Digital Learning Initiatives and Plans

It is the technology goal of East Allen County Schools to prepare students for the future, even though the future is unknown. We must provide students with the tools necessary to adapt to a world that changes rapidly. The Blended Learning Initiative will (our objectives):
  1. Extend student learning beyond the walls of the classroom; utilize eLearning when appropriate.

  2. Prepare students to be safe and responsible digital citizens.

  3. Engage students in real-world problems by collaborating with others in the classroom.

  4. Enable students to take responsibility for their own learning.

  5. Provide a balance for students and teachers on device screen-time with a mixture of digital and non-digital educational resources.

  6. Provide students with the tools to be successful in their future in higher education and/or careers.

  7. Provide equal access to technology tools, and thus equal opportunities to all students.

In order to meet the above objectives, EACS will deliver the following:


  • Utilize specific digital programs/Apps for supplemental instruction in all subject areas

  • Follow a research-based Digital Citizenship Curriculum for all students 

  • Provide all students and staff access to mobile, digital devices, to be utilized for educational purposes

  • Incorporate a district-wide, research-based curriculum that utilizes digital content, when available, in science, social studies, ELA, and math

  • Support training for students and staff on all educational technology

  • Equip students with skills necessary to engage and employ themselves in a digital world

  • Promote opportunities for students to become invested in a 21st century education
